Tom is already something of a veteran of the live music scene having been active since his mid-teens. The passing years have seen him become an assured live performer with a strong engaging stage presence and this ep confirms that he has well and truly graduated from the solo acoustic folk pop of his teenage years to a harder, edgier rock based sound. There is fine musicianship throughout this recording and some well-crafted songs such as “Judy with its strong hooks, “Clean Kid which has some impeccable guitar work and the self-assured swagger of “Big Little Glass Bowl. This release confirms that Tom Auton is a talented song writer and performer who is steadily making his way upstream and looks set to establish himself with a much wider audience in the years ahead.
