The Local Living Wage Dividend Report

New research released today from the Living Wage Foundation and the Smith Institute highlights that wider adoption of the real Living Wage could provide an economic boost to UK cities worth over £1.1bn.

The research looks at the effect of a quarter of non-living wage jobs in 10 city regions being lifted onto the Living Wage. The research finds that the Cardiff Capital region could benefit from a £45m economic boost if this occurred through a combination of factors including increased spending, improved productivity, multipliers etc. It calls on local areas to commit to advancing the Living Wage to develop dynamic, inclusive economies.
