Welsh Conservatives last night recorded local government victories in the north and south of the country.

In the Vale of Glamorgan, Rachel Nugent-Finn won the Cadoc by-election for Barry Town Council, and in Conwy, David Howcroft was last night elected to represent Dinerth on Colwyn Bay Town Council.
